Our Location on the map
As an Eco Franciscan Community we enforced a 'NO PRINTING POLICY' so as to safeguard the Earth's resources
About Storth, we are situated in beautiful Cumbria- the ancient Celtic Kingdom of Rhegged:
Storth Village & local places of interest(sea views, local activities, tide-timetables and amenities) This is where Chapel Gap is situated www.storth.com
Our Location:
The Monastery of Saint Francis is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty otherwise known locally as an 'AONB' area. The village is an experience as it literally is a place where 'time has stood still' for centuries. It resembles scenes from the Agatha Christi 'Miss Marples' TV series. The village is situated off the main road, hence many tourists forgetting that we are here.
We are surrounded by woodlands and with the Kent estuary (Morecambe Bay) only 10 minutes walking distance from the monastery gates. The place is ideal for persons seeking peace and quiet away from the bustle of city life.
Wildlife is in abundance and even the local pheasants arrive into the garden to join our working hens. We are equally blessed to be near the RSPB sanctuary at Leyton Moss where there is lots to see and do......
A point worth mentioning is that those hoping to come here by car using their 'Sat Navs' be warned as many have been taken on a 'wild goose chase to surrounding farms, miles from anywhere!
