ABOUT OUR GUEST ACCOMMODATION
Brothers Robert and Sean invite you to our humble abode where the needs of our guests take precedence over everything else.
To assist your enquiries, we have prepared the following for your perusal. Please click on each section.
If this is not your first ever experience staying in an Interreligious /Christian Monastic establishment, then we cordially invite you to experience a completely different style of 'Spiritual Relaxation for the Soul,' combining true Franciscan Hospitality in a non religious setting where the emphasis is placed not on who or what you wear, but more focused on what we can do for you as another in service to Source.
Our Accommodation is divided on two levels. Our monastic community and oratory are situated on the lower ground floor level whereas our guest accommodation is all on ground floor level. From the front of the monastery, the property resembles that of a single story bungalow. Guests who because of a disability will enjoy all the amenities being situated on one level for their comfort and safety.

The monastery takes on a new dimension if one is looking at it from the rear garden as it has two floors with additional entrance. Guests who have been staying here since 2003, all have commented on how small it looks from the front view but once they are actually inside the monastery, they are amazed by the feeling of space, comfort and light. In fact, many have said the place reminds them of a 'Tardis.' Access to the rear lower sacred garden where the hens are is accessible from the left side of the monastery itself. Views of the rear gardens and hens at play can be seen form the large glass conservatory that takes one right into the garden itself.
Our guest's accommodation consists of:
- Entrance hall where the WC and shower room is situated
- Two guest bedrooms, (1 Twin and 1 Double) both furnished to a very high stander.
- There is a large lounge with open log fire and tasteful soft furnishing creating a 'home from home environment.
- Fully fitted communal kitchen.
- Music room with piano for anyone interested in playing a tune or two.
- A well proportioned dining room accommodating seating for six.
- The property benefits from gas central heating.
With that in mind, he set out to prove that staying in a small monastic house can be anything but penitential and arduous. Here at Chapel Gap in Storth, Brother Sean with the help of Brother Robert, they have created a unique experience of combining Franciscan Hospitality with luxury for their guests.
The community's accommodation is situated on the lower ground level of the monastery. All guest accommodation is situated on ground floor level and comprises of the following: 1 twin bedroom, 1 Double bedroom, guest bathroom and WC, fully equipped kitchen, dining room with a large comfortable lounge and conservatory overlooking the rear gardens.
The accommodation is relaxed, friendly and homely where guests are made welcome with no expense spared on their taste for complete relaxation of mind, body and soul. For example, the customer 'monastic bedding of horsehair,' has been replaced with cotton and the bare floorboards and space furnishings have been replaced with soft pastel shades and luxurious furnishings creating a sense of opulence where each guest can experience a home from home environment.
The Monastery is a non smoking house but clients who do smoke are invited to do so outside in a designated area.
By the very nature of our ministry here, the accommodation is not ideally suited for young children.
We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in a spiritual atmosphere where emphasis is placed not on your beliefs but more about your willingness to experience genuine Franciscan Hospitality.
In the words of Jesus, 'My Peace I give to you and my Peace I leave with you.' Here in our monastery of Peace and Reconciliation for all mankind, we endeavour to make that Peace a 'reality experience' that will change your life for having stayed here.
Namaste
Brothers Sean and Robert TCOSF
